American Audio XSP Powered Speaker ReviewOct 21, 2009 American Audio has always been conscientious of price when it comes to introducing new gear to the professional audio market. They do their best to engineer quality gear at a price point even the entry-level audio professional, such as the bedroom and mobile DJ or little Johnny who has a small garage band, can afford.

American DJ MyDMX Box of TricksSep 21, 2009 I can’t tell you that I am an expert at DMX, because I am not. I am the average mobile DJ like most of you and for the last 20 years I’ve used the traditional plug and play lighting that was quick and easy to setup. Using a switch box I would “set the scene” for each song I played and fell into the same routine. These past few years, boredom over took me and I wanted more. I wanted a way to take control of my lights and have them do something other than be turned on to run the same set program or be turned off. Enter DMX.

X Marks The Spot A Review Of The American DJ X-Series of LED LightingAug 5, 2009 The trend to go green is now mainstream and some DJs are really benefiting from it in ways they would never think about, the entrance of LED lighting into the world of dance clubs and DJing. For DJs, LED par cans and washes have been at an obtainable price point for years now, but the LED intelligent moving heads were always out of reach for most. The first attempts at producing an affordable LED powered moving head were less than successful. When you viewed them on display, they were most always set five to six feet off the ground so they appeared to be bright.

The Galaxian Cleans Up After The StormJan 9, 2009 Everyone is out to add a little bit of laser to their show or club. The problem with traditional laser type lighting is that without a controller most are limited on their coverage. Enter a new series of laser lighting that creates a star field effect.

Dymo Discpainter CD Labeler ExtraordinarMay 28, 2008 Having graduated from printed labels to an Epson R220 which prints direct on cdr discs, you can pretty much say I’ve been around a while. Born out of the need to remember exactly what I put on not dozens, but hundreds of discs scattered throughout my office, I have tried it all. Well, just about all that I could afford that is.

American Audio TT Record Keeping Music Memories SafeMay 21, 2008 Where can you find all those rare 12 inch remixes you used to play back in the day? You won’t find them on itunes, Amazon or at your local cd store (if you can find a cd store that is). I may be one of the few that can say this but, I can find them in my basement. Squirreled away like nuts waiting for a mid-winter feast, I have guarded my vinyl collection for over two decades.

Cortex Dmix600 ReviewDec 26, 2007 Just in case anyone has been buried under a rock the last year and doesn‘t know what these digital controllers can do, the Cortex Dmix600 will allow you to play CBR and VBR mp3 files off either an external hard drive, an iPod or any other usb device. You can actually mix using only one source which is pretty incredible once you stop and think about it.

American DJ Electra LED ReviewOct 10, 2007 Given the fact the Electra weighs in at only 5lbs, it is a heavy weight when providing an inexpensive way to add the look of intelligent lighting and the coolness of LEDs on a smaller budget.

Mezo - ElationJun 5, 2007 This collaboration between Mezo, Dr. Nast E and a drum and bass produser which remains nameless is a rocking track worth taking seriously. I can see it becoming a club hit sooner of later.

Ableton Live Exposed!Nov 10, 2005 Live, Live Live....This is all I have been hearing for the last few years. You gotta try it they say, it will change your way of making music. Years ago I briefly looked at the description and it says it is a loop based tool. I'm sick of loops, what is with the loop craze. Doesn't anyone make music anymore? Between ACID and Sonar I can work with loops until my heart is content, and I haven't touched ACID in years (either kind). This is where I made my mistake.

Review: DJ LORD on the DJM-707Aug 6, 2004 Firstly let me start by saying "this mixer is incredible" as a little brother unit to the 909 so I'd imagine that the 909 will make me piss my clothes (Damn). Anyway, here goes. After intense practicing for the KoolMixx Dj Battle (which I've won the first prelim on May 4th), for the upcoming DMC heat, laying scratches for the two new Public Enemy albums, as well as using it live at Hip/Hop-Drum-Bass raves this mixer can take a beating. With it's punchy sound and powerful EQ's not once have the faders bled or shown signs of static or sound degeneration...nice.

Behringer EP1500 Power AmplifierNov 6, 2003 There is a saying in the old Western Movies, "If you want to break a wild horse, you need to ride it hard". Well, the Behringer Europower 1500 Power Amplifier is one wild horse that did not want to be broken.
