100 ways to make the web work

Get a NEW website and get THOUSANDS of visitors right away!

Dr. N

It CAN be done! You can get your website today designed, start promoting it tomorrow, and measure your visitors in the 1000s in days.

There's NO other media that will let you do this.

ONLY a website gives you this amazingly FAST way of setting the world on fire. Don't believe me? Think that Ted Turner could call up his network captains and order you a million dollar ad campaign and do the same thing? Not on your life.

First the production department would tell Ted, "Our camera crew is booked for the next month. Unless you want to put off paying customers, stand in line." Turner's ad scheduling department would tell him, "Sorry Ted. We're sold out to Chevrolet and Coca Cola for the next six weeks. No room for your friend's commercials."

The Internet is a completely different ball game. You can:

Snag your own URL (personalized website address) through an internet hosting company today.

A good website provider will have you set up in hours.

You or your hired designer can start laying down copy and HTML ten minutes from now.

Tomorrow morning your site can be in place (at least enough to get started) AND...

You can email your friends and associates to look through it and give you their initial reactions.

At that point you're on your way....and only 24 hours has passed.

NEXT you've got to promote! Start by registering your website with the six biggest search engines. Alta Vista, HotBot, Excite, Infoseek, Lycos and WebCrawler. There are several places on the Net where you can register with ALL these engines with only one click.

You could STOP registering with search engines at this point and probably be smarter than all those guys with their "register with 647 sites" automatic registration programs. Here's why:

80% of people using search engines use one of these six big engines. Yes, you can register your site with lots of other sites (the top 20 will get you 99% of people on-line), but the big six may be all you need.

Of course, your web pages must be optimized for the way search engines work. The big six are run by computers. The computer makes a quick check of your site, reads the title of your page, then takes a look at your keywords in the meta tag (more on that elsewhere on this site), then looks at your text to see if your title and keywords match (a measure to keep wily web designers from tricking search engines).

Next, you'll want to put up mirror sites. These are single pages that focus on ONE of your keywords. For example: FirstOzark.com, whose web pages I designed, sell novelty plots of Whitewater property in Arkansas. Knowing that a lot of people search the engines with "Bill Clinton" as a keyword, FirstOzark has a mirror page that talks extensively about Bill Clinton. The text, title, and keywords state "Bill Clinton" several times. Then the text links the reader to the main FirstOzark site.

You could register this specialized mirror page with search engines and the many people searching for "Bill Clinton" would likely stumble across it.

Some Net marketers (who sell this secret for almost $200) expand this mirror page technique to several hundred mirror sites (in theory....no one has ever checked).

NOW..Here comes the most effective marketing tool on the Internet. And 99% of people with a website NEVER use it. Write an article for publication in email newsletters (e-zines). ONE short article can get your name, company, and website address in front of one million people in less than a week. And it's FAR, FAR better than a paid ad.

"But I'm not a writer!" you exclaim. You don't have to be. Get with someone who writes fairly well and have them work with you to structure a page of instructions. (My thanks to veteran Internet columnist Gary Christensen for inventing that concept.) All you have to have is a single page of instructions on how to do something that lots of other people will want to know.

Then send mail to the autoresponder at new@yoken.com and you will receive a list of several hundred top email newsletters. Submit your article to them via email. The advantage of email newsletters is they are produced very quickly. You can send out an article this afternoon and have it back in your mailbox in someone's newsletter by nightfall. Meanwhile, thousands of people read your article and go straight to your website.

There is a BIG difference between this method of promotion and Slick Willie trickster methods of scamming people to your website. With my method people come looking for you with the image that YOU are an expert that can provide them with product or service. That's the image that leads to SALES!

Got a few bucks left over? Buy a $30 classified ad in DEMC e-Magazine. It's a simple e-mail newsletter that goes to 300,000eager beaver subscribers. In the copy I get each week, the ads all have live clickable links to email addresses and website URLs. DEMC pulls like crazy. There's nothing like it. Get more information by sending email to info@demc.com

You can do ALL that in just a few days, leaving several more days for your promotion to take effect and visitors to start pouring into your website. I KNOW this works because I have built my business on it.
