Even in the rural areas the demise of 90% of the wireless microphones could be on the horizon thanks to Verizon Wireless.
Last year, Verizon purchased the airwaves previously used for analog television, the so-called 700 MHz spectrum, the same 700 MHz that most pre-2009 wireless microphones operate on.
