Premier Technology Partner Apple hosted daily VIP guest appearances with Talib Kweli, A-Trak and Josh Gabriel, among others. Additional leading electronic-music icons collaborated with the participating technology partners during Remix Hotel, including Reid Speed, King Britt, Dirty South, Junior Sanchez, Faust & Shortee, Stryke, Sharkey, Ida Engberg and Hanna. Through a series of intimate demonstrations attended by small groups of aspiring producers, DJs, engineers as well the fans themselves, each Technology Partner gave attendees a unique taste of what the future holds in the world of electronic- and urban-music production and performance. A product highlight that became the word on everyone’s lips at The National was the introduction of the innovative pocket-size Pacemaker DJ system—a revolutionary portable music player, from Swedish manufacturer Tonium, that comes equipped with an extensive range of professional
audio-manipulation features enabling limitless mixing between two independent channels with nearly everything you would expect in a full-size setup.
“Remix Hotel Miami continues to inspire, influence and educate attendees through our cutting-edge product demonstrations, workshops and seminars,” said Joe Perry, associate publisher of Remix magazine. “The daily Beatport Pool Parties gave music lovers some great entertainment, as well as the chance to relax and take a step away from the technology. With the help of our exceptional Technology Partners, Presenting Sponsor Beatport and Premier Technology Partner Apple, we broke all previous attendance records in Miami, which shows the increasing popularity of our flagship event. At this rate of growth, we may need to consider expanding on our physical presence during the four days in Miami.”
