The editors of DJzone, the largest online information network for DJs in the world, once again attended the annual Winter NAMM show in sunny Anaheim California in search of the best new product releases for the coming year. After reviewing all the new products geared towards club DJs for well over a day, they came to the unanimous conclusion that Rane’s new SIXTY-EIGHT club mixer stood out from all the competitors.
On that note they were proud to award the Crystal Disc Award for the Best New Club DJ Product for 2010 to Rane for the design and creation of the Rane SIXTY-EIGHT Mixer. Rane joins the gilded ranks of past winners of this award that include Denon with their DN-D6000 CD Player and two time winner Pioneer with the CDJ1000 CD Player and SVM-1000 Club Video Mixer.
The SIXTY-EIGHT includes Serato Scratch Live software and is the first professional DJ mixer with two USB 2.0 High Speed ports with support for real-time connection of two computers. Two DJs can work in parallel and/or seamlessly transition from one DJ to another. The mixer features direct control of over 30 Scratch Live library, cue and loop functions.
“The thing that stood out the most about the Rane SIXTY-EIGHT was the feel of it. It just felt and handled like a Rane. It’s a quality you can feel.”, says Sid Vanderpool publisher of DJzone Magazine http://www.djzone.net “I seriously believe this mixer will be a contender in the club market.”
About The Crystal Disc Award:
The Crystal Disc Award was first handed out in 2002 at NAMM as a way to point out extreme advances in DJ gear. It has grown into three awards. Best Club DJ Product and Best Mobile DJ Product, both of which are presented by DJzone editors at winter NAMM and then the DJ’s Choice Award for Lighting which is presented at LDI. Based on the foundation that companies do not have to be advertisers with DJzone to be awarded a “disc” makes the Crystal Disc Award one of the most honest and sought after awards in the DJ industry.
