MUSIC group announces the acquisition of award-winning professional loudspeaker manufacturer, TURBOSOUND, today.  Based in West Sussex, England, TURBOSOUND has remained at the forefront of loudspeaker technology for more than three decades, and has earned the prestigious Queen’s Award a remarkable three times including for Innovation in 2012.  The addition of TURBOSOUND allows MUSIC Group to round out their professional and touring sound offerings alongside MIDAS and KLARK TEKNIK.

“Since the acquisition of MIDAS and KLARK TEKNIK we have been pursuing a loudspeaker brand that complements the consoles and processing offered by these historic brands,” says Uli Behringer, MUSIC GROUP founder and CEO. “Throughout our search TURBOSOUND has stood out as the ideal match because of their extensive IP, sterling reputation and a first-class team of people. I am very proud to welcome Simon Blackwood and his team to our family.”

TURBOSOUND joins MIDAS and KLARK TEKNIK as anchor brands to the MUSIC Group’s continued expansion into professional markets.  Aimed at delivering complete system solutions to Touring and Install customers, the combination of brands represents a new range of choice for the most demanding of application.  It is expected that TURBOSOUND will benefit from MUSIC Group’s extensive infrastructure while retaining their own manufacturing, sales, marketing, and distribution network worldwide.

“We will invest heavily in positioning TURBOSOUND at the very pinnacle of the industry as we have done with MIDAS and KLARK TEKNIK where we have financed more than $20 million in new automated manufacturing, quality control systems and engineering resources including a new Center of Engineering Excellence in Manchester, UK,” adds Behringer.

“With the incredible people and resources of MUSIC Group behind us, I am thrilled to enter a new era of unprecedented growth,” says Simon Blackwood, Managing Director of TURBOSOUND.
