Music Movement Gearing To 'Spin' Top Markets; Brand To Make $20,000 Donation To AIDS Charities
Hennessy is the brand that makes memorable events happen
LOS ANGELES, September 18, 2003 - The decks are laid, the samplers are set and Hennessy is gearing to turn up the heat and ignite music fans with the hottest mixes from Latino DJ's. Urban Movida, Hennessy's new Latin music movement spreading to the country's top markets, will spotlight the freestyling talents of well known spinners and hot up-and-coming Latino DJ's dominating the local music circuit.
On a mission to expose known Latino DJ's and find the trendsetters on the local Latin music scene, Hennessy is inviting club hoppers to attend 'Urban Movida,' an invitation-only event to be held at various nightspots in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and Dallas during October and November. At the events, fans will be treated to a VIP night of energy-driven music spun by the city's top rising DJs and local Latin spinners.
"Hennessy is the brand that makes memorable events happen," says John Santos, brand manager, Hennessy Cognac. "The 'Urban Movida' events will bring the energy and attitude of the underground trends into the spotlight. The vibe and experience will be totally unique."
The 'Urban Movida' movement, inspired by a combination of new musical influences emerging from Latin America, Europe and the States, aims to hype DJs' passion and vibe to their art and spotlight the known and unknown talents of local artists looking to make it big on the circuit.
Hennessy Urban Movida events will be promoted locally through radio promotions and online registration beginning in early October. Fans can log onto www.UrbanLatino.com to find more details and register or listen to KSSE-FM (Super Estrella) in Los Angeles, WCAA-FM (Latino Mix) in New York and WVIV-FM (Viva) in Chicago win passes for these events. Dallas radio will be announced shortly.
Extending the brand's legacy of support to charities and organizations in the Latino community, Hennessy will also make a $20,000 donation on October 15th, National Latino AIDS Awareness Day, to local non-profit AIDS organizations in each market supporting AIDS education in the Hispanic community.
"Hennessy Urban Movida presents a unique opportunity to extend the international personality of the brand among Hispanic music fans and also support the community causes we all care about," adds Santos. "Hennessy is proud to support the mission of local AIDS centers and help enable them to continue its critical services across the city."
