Crown International announced the addition of the Xs 1200 to the Xs Series of power amplifiers at the Winter NAMM trade show in Anaheim. The Xs 1200 is the highest-powered model in the series, providing 1,100 watts per channel into 4 ohms for customers demanding more power within the Xs Series. Designed with mobile DJs, musicians and regional tour companies in mind, the Xs Series offers compact, lightweight, 2RU designs along with very aggressive price points.
“The new Xs 1200 really rounds out the Xs Series, offering a high-power option for driving subs and high output loudspeaker systems,” noted Larry Baker, Market Director for Portable PA, Recording and Broadcast at Crown. “This new amplifier offers a whole lot of Crown power for the money, and makes the Xs Series complete, with models to power the whole system, from monitors, to mid-high cabinets to subwoofers.”
Like the other models in the Xs Series, the Xs 1200 includes a number of notable features. The amplifier is housed in a rugged, all-steel 2RU chassis and employs efficient forced-air cooling. The front panel features dual precision-detented level controls, power switch, bridge, power, AC mains present, temp and fault LEDs and signal and clip LEDs for each channel. Rear panel connections include Neutrik ® Combo inputs, allowing balanced XLR or ¼-inch connections, barrier strip inputs, XLR male outputs for daisy-chaining, plus touch-proof binding post, Speakon ® and Phoenix outputs. The Xs 1200 also employs extensive protection and diagnostics capabilities, including output current limiting, DC protection, circuit breaker, and special thermal protection. Like all Crown amplifiers, Xs Series products are backed by the manufacturer’s industry-exclusive Three-Year, No-Fault, Fully Transferable Warranty.
Power ratings per channel and suggested US retail pricing on the new Crown Xs 1200 are as follows:
Xs 1200: 1,600W at 2 Ohms 1,100W at 4 Ohms 650W at 8 Ohms $1,789.00
