American Audio has devised a way to put mobile DJs on the fast track to success. The company has added a jog/shuttle wheel to its newest entry-level rack-mount dual CD player, the DCD-PRO210, a feature that allows DJs to effortlessly zip back and forth within any given track, with lightning speed.

The new jog/shuttle wheel represents a big improvement over the play/pause button found on American Audio’s original entry-level model, the DCD-PRO-200. With smooth operation and pinpoint precision, the jog/shuttle wheel gives DCD-PRO210 users the ability to put on a snappier, more professional-quality performance—without having to spend any extra money. Just like its predecessor, the new-version DCD-PRO210 carries a suggested retail price of only $399.95.

“A jog/shuttle wheel is a huge user convenience, a professional feature not usually found on CD players at this price point,” said Tom Freret, national sales manager for American Audio. “We’ve added one to each deck of the DCD-PRO210, while keeping the unit at the same great low price.”

In addition to the jog/shuttle-wheel upgrade, the DCD-PRO210 still offers all of the original features that made the unit so popular with mobile DJs in the first place. The CD player has four different scan speeds, 20 programmable tracks, +10 track advance button, mechanical anti-skip protection, +/–12 pitch control and pitch bend up/down to +/–16 percent. A flip-flop relay playback automatically switches over to Side 2 of the dual CD player and starts playing after the song on Side 1 has finished. Bright LCD displays facilitate program, single/continue and time viewing. Each deck reads CD and CD-R media and includes an S/PDIF digital output.

Another professional feature of the DCD-PRO210 dual CD player is Fader Q Start, which lets DJs instantly cue to a pre-preprogrammed point on a CD with the flick of a crossfader, when used with a compatible mixing board such as American Audio’s four-channel Q-2411.

“The new DCD-PRO210 is cooler, faster and even more flexible than the original,” Freret said. “This upgraded model represents the kind of quality and value that we at American Audio strive to offer our customers.”

The DCD-PRO210’s player unit measures 10”L x 19”W x 3.5”H. The controller is 2.5”L x 19”W x 3.5”H. Total weight is 15 lbs. The suggested retail price of the DCD-PRO210 is only $399.95.
