The WMS 400 is the first wireless microphone system to offer setup time that is comparable to hardwired systems. An automatic frequency selection function inside the SR400 Diversity Receiver scans the crowded wireless spectrum, quickly identifying interference-free channels. The transmitter’s frequency is set “auto-magically” via an infrared data link, and in less than one minute, the WMS 400 is ready to use.
The WMS 400 even makes short work of positioning antennas for optimum system performance. Its Rehearsal function automatically analyzes system performance and indicates potential problems before the event.
The WMS 400 includes an LCD for clear indication of operating parameters. If a critical condition requiring the engineer’s attention occurs, the display’s backlighting changes from green to red.
AKG engineers set out to lower operating cost as well as setup time, and they have cut the cost of batteries for the WMS 400 system to half that of comparable products. WMS 400 transmitters deliver 50 mW of RF output for 6 hours from a single alkaline battery; 8 hours from the optional rechargeable battery. Each transmitter accurately indicates remaining battery life, and sends a low-capacity warning to the receiver to alert the system engineer.
Despite their advanced features and infrared data link capability, WMS 400 Series transmitters are smaller than any comparable models. Never before has using wireless microphones been more convenient and less conspicuous. WMS 400 is compatible with AKG’s top-of-the-line WMS 4000 Series antenna splitter, power supply, and high-quality remote antennas to design and operate very large multi-channel systems at extremely attractive cost. Fast setup, easy and reliable operation, unsurpassed audio quality, and exceptional cost efficiency make the new AKG WMS 400 the first choice for most wireless applications.
