Wireworks, the leading innovator of audio/video cabling systems and custom panels, introduces its newest line of digital cable assemblies, AESX Series, at AES 2007, booth #1200. Wireworks new AESX top of the line digital interconnect cable assemblies are manufactured with next generation, Neutrik XX Series XLR connectors offering improved signal integrity and mechanical enhancements.

The new AESX Series includes both single pair and eight pair 110 ohm AES/EBU digital cable assemblies. The single pair cords provide two digital signal paths and are available in 10 to 100 ft lengths, while the 8 pair multicables allow for 16 digital signal paths configured with XLR fanouts on each end. Two application specific models are available; studio select featuring 26 gauge conductors for added flexibility in 10 to 50ft lengths and Road-Tough assemblies featuring extra low loss 24 gauge conductors and super durable cable jacket in lengths from 10ft to 250ft.

“We are continually looking at ways to make our cabling assemblies more reliable, provide loss-free signals and increased durability,” states Gerald Krulewicz, president of Wireworks. “Incorporating Neutrik’s XX Series connectors into our assemblies gives the audio professional piece of mind in increased conductivity, strain relief and latching connections.”

All AESX digital cable assemblies feature Neutrik XX series black-gold connectors with a unique female contact cage design for low contact resistance and high integrity. The female connector also has an improved solid metal latch, which is larger and easier to handle and additional ground spring contacts offer better shell ground continuity and improved chuck type strain relief provides higher pull-out force. The XX boot is designed with polyurethane gland for higher protection to cable bending stresses.
