Promo Only Unveils its Newest CD Series, Pop Latin!

Orlando, FL (January 23, 2002) - Latin Pop: it's all about energy, romance, and rhythm. It's also fast becoming one of the most popular music crossover formats in the country. And now, Latin Pop comes to Promo Only, the nation's leading promotional music and music video service, as Pop Latin, Promo Only's newest monthly Latin CD series!

Just what is Latin Pop? It's Latin rhythms with a pop sensibility:

well-crafted melodies, sterling production and pure passion fuel the latest crop of Latin Pop. Spurred by the mega-success of Hispanic artists such as Enrique Iglesias, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Santana and Ricky Martin, Latin Pop has exploded onto the mainstream, reaching an ever-growing audience with an ever-growing range of styles.

"Latin Pop has come to represent such a broad range of music," says Promo Only director Jim Robinson. "Pop, Spanish Rock, Latin Dance, Freestyle, Latin Soul-Latin Pop has become a true crossover phenomena."

"Its impact is being felt in virtually every market in the country," agreed Promo Only programmer, DJ Leony Vega. "Many of these styles-Spanish Rock, for example-are only beginning to take off."

And as the appetite for Latin music grows, so does the Promo Only Latin Series.

While Promo Only's Regional Latin series spotlights Tejano, Mariachi and Cumbia, and their Tropical Latin series focuses on the Salsa, Bachata and Merengue styles, Pop Latin bridges the two by combining the sweeping emotion and irresistible rhythms of each with a decidedly commercial sound.

The result? Even more ways to bring the excitement of Latin Music to your format!

Pop Latin also promises to each month offer many exclusive Promo Only remixes (alternative versions of popular songs restyled by leading DJ/producers and Promo Only's in-house production staff).

"Sony, Warner Music, EMI Latin, BMG, US Latin, Universal-we're working very closely with all the major labels to offer this combination of Latin," said Vega. "And, of course, to offer them first."

"We've tailored Pop Latin to be the series that best represents the full spectrum of what today's Latin music has to offer," concluded Robinson.  "This is music for the growing mainstream that is still discovering Latin Pop."

Pop Latin, a monthly music series available by subscription only, may be ordered by directing your email request to or by calling 407-331-3600. Current track listings may be viewed by visiting
