DJ Expo West/ The Club Show
Cancelled Due to International Events & Business Climate

Port Washington, NY - In light of the tragedy which struck our nation on September 11 and in response to the subsequent anxiety regarding business travel, Testa Communications has canceled DJ Expo West/ The Club Show, scheduled to take place at San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium from January 29-31, 2002. However, plans for The International DJ Expo, scheduled for August 26-29, 2002 at the Atlantic City Convention Center, in Atlantic City, NJ, remain unimpeded.

"Testa Communications would like to thank its vendors and sponsors for their generous support and understanding during this extremely difficult time," said Vinny Testa, show producer. "We resolved not to let acts of terrorism impact our plans, but it has become clear that the business community and public are currently lukewarm about trade shows. We have decided to redirect our energy towards expanding our East Coast show, The International DJ Expo, so that it will include the club market."

Club Systems editor Kerri Mason concurs: "All the enthusiasm for the San Francisco Club Show hasn't dissipated - it's just been redirected toward August and Atlantic City," she said. "The extra preparation time will allow us to further ensure a pleasurable and useful experience for our attendees and loyal readers, all of whom work as club owners and managers, lighting directors, audio/sound technicians, stage managers, and club systems installers and designers."

DJ Times editor Jim Tremayne maintains optimism about the show and its industry. "Our long-running Atlantic City Expo remains the industry's largest DJ-specific show and it continues to grow," says Tremayne, who has helped helm every DJ Expo since its 1990 inception. "Additionally, DJ culture in America continues to expand and we'd like to think that our DJ Expos have helped foster that growth."

The International DJ Expo is by far the largest DJ convention of its kind, drawing in excess of 5,000 DJs from across the nation. Because the show has been expanded to include The Club Show, exhibitors will be able to reach a wider customer base.
