Shure
Inc. is sponsoring Wendy's Sizzlin' Sounds of Late Night, a national
songwriting contest that encourages amateur songwriters to compose an
original tune inspired by their own hamburger cravings.
The grand prize
winner will join legendary producer Eddie Kramer in the studio for a
daylong recording session.
"This is a
great way for amateur musicians to show their originality and let the
public hear them," said Kramer.
The contest runs
until Aug. 31, and in September, five regional winners will be
selected. From these, a grand prize winner and runner-up will be determined.
In addition to the
demo recording session with Kramer at Chicago Recording Co., the
grand prize winner will receive Shure studio microphones valued at
more than $8,000 Shure, $2,000 in mixing software from contest
co-sponsor Sonic Foundry and a $2,000 music equipment gift
certificate. The runner-up receives a Shure KSM32 studio microphone,
a Shure Drum Mic Kit, $2,000 in mixing software from Sonic Foundry
and a $2,000 music equipment gift certificate. All five regional
winners will receive $2,000 in mixing software from Sonic Foundry.
