PETALUMA CA- January 2001 At Winter NAMM, Furman debuted what they call “five rack spaces of gear in a three space box” the new DJM-80 DJ Production Mixer. The DJM-80 with built-in PUNCH Sub HarmonicSynthesizer is designed

Furman’s new DJ Mixer with the professional in mind. Furman’s unique two stage phono pre-amp incorporates a 20hz, 18dB per octave high pass filter built into the first stage, with the typical RIAA curve sloping into the second, rather than the inexpensive single stage designs found in other mixers. Some other key features include adjustable slope and 3-band EQ with Bass Kill on each side of the cross fader, two mic inputs with separate EQ for each mic channel, and 24dB per octave Sub Output. “The DJM-80 is our second attempt at providing the DJ market with a unique and professional mixer. The market which we are targeting demands ultra high performance, reliability, and above all flexibility without a lot of trendy features.” Commented Joe Desmond, Furman’s Vice President of Sales: “Our first mixer, the DJM-8 was very well received and we did very well with it, however we were not satisfied with the service record so we discontinued it and started from scratch. The end result is the most sophisticated DJ Mixer in its’ class.” Furman estimates that the new DJM-80 will be shipping this Spring.
