I'M LEFT, YOU'RE RIGHT, THE XLT530 DEBUTS

New full-range loudspeaker with PowerMeterm indicators joins Community product preview showcase at Winter NAMM

ANAHEIM, CA, January 18, 2001--Representing one of the latest additions to Community's XLT500 Series, the three-way, full-range XLT530 is engineered for use in sound reinforcement and portable PA systems. Well-suited for live performance, nightclubs, houses of worship, health clubs, and AN applications, the loudspeaker will make a special preview showing at Winter NAMM in booth #6957.

Central to the strength and integrity of the XLT530's performance is a bass ported design employing a single 15-inch, Ferrofluid-cooled low frequency driver and a one-piece fiberglass horn section containing a 6.5-inch cone midrange driver and Community's lJC-1 one-inch compression driver. To better facilitate narrower horizontal coverage or vertical mounting, the 65° x 30° high frequency horn can easily be rotated accordingly.

Operable from 50 Hz to 18 kHz with a sensitivity of 101 dB SPL at 1 W/1 m and a maximum output rated at 133 dB SPL (peak), the XLT530, like all other full-range XLT500 Series components, is protected by Community's improved IntelliSenseTM circuitry, which operates in conjunction with the loudspeaker manufacturer's PowerMeterTL" LED indicators to insure that peak performance levels can be reached and maintained without risk of damage to system components. Found on both the front and rear panels, the PowerMeter LEDs flash green to indicate signal presence, yellow to warn that the loudspeaker is entering its first stages of protection, and red to show that full protection has been activated. Within protection mode, IntelliSense automatically attenuates speaker levels to within a safe range. Once gain has been reduced, the circuit resets itself, restoring full power and operation to the speaker.

Interlocking corner protectors, recessed handles, rigging points, and a stand socket are all found on the trapezoidal XLT530 enclosure, which measures 34 inches tall by 20.3 inches wide at the front, and 18 inches deep. Made from a rugged, newly-developed, sandwich-core plywood, the black-carpeted cabinet is additionally fitted with a 16-gauge perforated steel grille, and weighs in at 65 Ibs.
